Squirt – Week Ending Jan 17


Henry Butte scored two goals and set up another and Devan Dunlap had a goal and an assist as South trimmed West 6-3 – Joe Quin with two goals in the loss; and Matthew Cooke had the hat trick and Brady Chapman had 1 goal, 2 assists for the East in a 5-3 win over North.


Carson Muse scored the winner with 10 seconds left in the second period as Winchester edged Concord 2-1; and Brady Chapman scored two goals and set up another in Tewksbury’s 4-1 victory over Reading.


In the North, Nick Petronio scored one goal and dished out two assists, Kaitlin Sullivan and George Darwin both had a goal and an assist, Jase Hannigan also posted two assists and Sam Caulfield pitched a shutout in Needham’s 6-0 victory over Newton; Jack Doherty scored two late goals and Connor Donovan had two assists as Marblehead downed the Maine Academy 5-2 – Charlie Moore with 1-1-2 in the loss; Matt Deedy scored the winner with 9:55 left and also had an assist as Acton-Boxboro edged Maine 3-2; Angella Fabbo scored with 3:36 left to give Peabody a 1-1 tie with Agawam; and Drew White and Emerson Marshall both clicked for 1-1-2 in Cape Ann’s 4-1 triumph over Dorchester.

In the South, Nolan McEnaney scored two goals and set up two others and Wolfgang Hammye had a goal and two assists in Framingham’s 6-3 win over Hyde Park – Ryan Walsh with 1-1-2 in the loss; Andrew DeFronzo scored in the first period and Triboro downed Wellesley 4-0; Joe Quinn posted 1-1-2 as SMS nipped Framingham, 3-1; Braeden Curran scored with 57 seconds left to give Newburyport a 3-3 tie with Andover – No. 32 with the other two goals for Newburyport; and Andrew Alquist wore the hat, Marcus Guida scored twice and John Jenkins had 1-1-2 in Wakefield’s 7-3 victory over Charlestown – Mike McLaughlin with 1-1-2 in the loss.


Nashoba had a win and a tie in the North. Will Gaynor, who also had an assist, scored two late goals, netting the winner with 3:53 left ands Matt Mulhern also scored twice in a 5-4 decision over the Sharks – and Mike Desmarais scored with five seconds remaining to give Greater Lowell a 4-4 tie with Nashoba, Gaynor with a hat trick for Nashoba;

Alan Weitzman and Ryan Kane both wore hats, Weitzman with two assists as Burlington defeated Peabody 6-2; Christopher Woo scored four goals and set up two others, Miko Tashjian had 2-1-3, Eric Caouette also scored twice and Russell LeBert had 1-1-2 in Lexington/Bedford’s 10-3 victory over Cambridge, which got 1-2-3 from Andrew Bittner and two goals from Tom Fulginiti; Matt DiZoglio and Bobby Dodge both wore hats, DiZoglio adding assist, and James Caples had two assists in Wilmington’s 6-3 victory over Haverhill/Pentucket; Josiah Jones scored two late goals, the second with 1:58 left to give Brookline a 4-3 decision over Lynnfield/Saugus – Andrew Shaw with two goals in the loss; and Nathaniel Venis scored his second late goal with 1:19 left to give SMS a 5-4 win over Cambridge – Kallan Lonergan with 2-1-3 in the win and Bittner a hat trick and Tom and Nick Fulginiti two assists apiece in the loss;

Concord-Carlisle won twice in the South. Jason Fasciano, Gunnar Lyons and Lucas DeMano all scored twice in a 9-1 victory over SMS – and Jack Francini posted 2-1-3 in a 4-2 win over Waltham, which got 1-1-2 from William Corbett;

In the other game, Nolan Maiani wore the hat, Matt O’Connor had two goals and an assist and Colin Fahey 1-1-2 as Melrose defeated Somerville 7-2 – No. 37 with 1-1-2 in the loss.

Framingham won twice in the East as goalie James Richardson pitched a pair of shutouts. Pat Chapin had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over Triton – and Stephen Wells wore the hat, Katie Lanzillo had a goal and two assists, Chapin dished out three assists and Sean McGee two in a 7-0 triumph over Acton-Boxboro;

John Nowick scored one goal and set up two others, Mathew Lacroix scored twice, Matt Barbosa posted 1-1-2 and Jake Ferraro also had two assists in Everett/Revere’s 7-1 win over Marblehead; and Luke Wells scored two goals and dished out three assists, Aidan Sprague wore the hat and Sammy Ohannesian and Stephen Pedro both scored twice in Lynn’s 11-3 victory over Malden/East Boston, which got two goals from Jake Simpson.

Andover won twice in the West. Zanda Iannessa scored two goals and set up another, Brian Pierni also scored twice and Caleb Cafua had two assists in a 6-2 win over North Reading – and Pierni posted 2-1-3, Mason Lomasney had 1-1-2, Cafua two assists and John Croll the 6-0 shutout over Newburyport;

Mullen scored four goals and Cronin wore the hat and had an assist in Parkway’s 89-1 victory over Medford; Colin Ward, James Cashman and Brian Dunne all posted 1-1-2 and Ava Iantosca scored what turned out to be the winner with 53 seconds left as Dedham edged Agawam 6-5 – Adam Green with two goals in the loss; Cody Berkio wore the hat, Jeff Alisauskas had 1-1-2, Brady Cormier two assists and Cam Begnoche the shutout in Twin City’s 7-0 win over Tewksbury; and Kassidy Carmichael and Hannah Ward both scored twice as the Wizards downed Danvers 7-4 – Lepore with 2-1-3 in the loss.

Belmont and Masco both won twice in the Central. Brian Logan scored twice and Timmy Rowen pitched a shutout in Belmont’s 6-0 victory over Hyde Park – and Ryan Halloran wore the hat and Logan had a goal and an assist in a 7-1 victory over Waltham; Jaden Wiggins posted 2-2-4, Nathaniel Cantalupo had 1-1-2 had 1-1-2 and Lucas LaFauci two assists in Masco’s 6-3 win over the Cyclones, who got two goals from Marc Anthony and two assists from Seamus Ross – and Ben Merrill scored the winner with 7:32 left as Masco came from two goals down and edged Lynnfield/Saugus 3-2;

Jack Novello pitched a shutout and Luke Angelo scored early as Framingham nipped Brookline 2-0; Brendan Morris clicked for 2-2-4 and Joe Kelleher also scored twice as Melrose topped Arlington 5-3; Ames Sanfilippo scored with 5:01 left to give Cape Ann a 2-2 tie with Reading; Glen Calla snapped a 1-1 tie with 5:16 left and Mike Bertino had 1-1-2 in Winthrop’s 3-1 victory over Wakefield; Avery Reed and Connor Gray both posted 2-1-3 and Jack Crowell had 1-1-2 as the Cyclones downed North Andover 6-2; and Antony Romano snapped a 2-2 tie with 4:12 left and also had an assist as Stoneham trimmed Wilmington 4-2.


In the North, Seamus Jones scored two goals and set up two others and Noah Ciccolo and No. 67 also scored twice in Belmont’s 7-4 victory over Cambridge – Roman Powers with two goals in the loss; Joe Coughlin and Amy Vytopilova both scored twice and Andrew Cutter had two assists in Agawam’s 6-2 win over the Outlaws; Powers scored twice as Cambridge defeated Burlington 3-1; Alexsa Caron scored with five seconds left to give Greater Lowell a 5-4 decision over Andover – Jacob McDougall with 2-1-3 and Jack Feeney 1-1-2 in the win; Jack Applegate set up two goals as Lexington/Bedford edged Allston/Brighton 4-3 – Finn Conneeley with two goals in the loss; and Winchester’s Brian Hannon and Newton’s Hata swapped goals in a 1-1 tie.

In the South, Greta Becker scored with 2:28 left to give Triton a 3-2 decision over Reading, which got both goals from Nick Genese; Ben Gaudette pitched a shutout and Kyle O’Keefe scored early as the Sharks edged Tewksbury 1-0; Nate Landau wore the hat and had an assists, Axel Nielson posted 2-1-3, Caleb Stevens 1-2-3 and Max Nilt two goals in Natick’s10-4 win over Wellesley; Brooklyn Pizzimenti scored four goals and William Dever dished out three assists as Andover trimmed NH East 5-3 – Ryan Dempsey with two goals and Juliana Grella two assists in the loss; Ryan Mackeen scored twice in Tewksbury’s 4-1 victory over Reading; and Croke had 2-1-3 and Reddy two assists as S&S downed Waltham 4-1.

In the East, Saul Ginns scored two goals in 25 seconds and Gavin Carreiro posted a goal and an assist in Arlington’s 5-1 victory over Melrose; Nick DiGiovanni scored twice in Wilmington’s 5-2 win over Acton-Boxboro; and Ian Cloutman capped a hat trick with 2:17 left and also had an assist to lead Cape Ann to a 5-4 victory over SMS – Jake Curley with a hat trick and an assist and Brendan Morrissey 1-1-2 in the loss.

Chelmsford won twice in the West. Jack Keyo scored his fourth goal of the game (to go with an assist) with 10:11 left and that was the difference as Chelmsford edged Nashoba 6-5, Cam Joos with a hat trick and Ronan McGowan three assists in the loss – and Logan Green pitched a shutout and Cooper Campo scored twice in a 3-0 triumph over Groton;

Reagan O’Neil scored twice and Alex Recht had a goal and an assist in Wellesley’s 4-1 victory over Stoneham; Joey Raymond wore a natural hat in his team’s five-goal first period and also had an assist and Sal Pace and Jack Harrington both scored twice as the Edge scored a big win over Andover; Chris Cassesso erupted for eight goals and Zack Fellinger scored twice in Somerville’s 10-4 victory over Beverly – Timmy Sullivan with 1-1-2 and Jacob Bucyk two assists in the loss; Jack Condron scored what turned out to be the winner with 9:56 left as Brookline edged Reading 3-2; and Reagan O’Neil scored twice and Alex Recht posted 1-1-2 in Wellesley’s 4-1 win over Stoneham,.

In the Central’s second goal of the game, with 8:02 left, turned out to be the winner, Antonio Zermani wore the hat and had an assists and Louis Bottari, Dan Cahill and Chris Moriani all posted two assists as Winchester edged Woburn 6-5 – Brady Elio with 2-1-3 and Owen Driscoll two goals in the loss; Dan Edelman scored the tying goal with 1:17 left as Concord-Carlisle came from two goals down  and tied Danvers 2-2; Ezekiel Kasen scored his second and third goals in the third period and also had an assist as Brookline pulled out a 4-4 tie with Lexington/Bedford, which got 1-1-2 from Will Freda; Maddie Burke scored in the first period as the Andover Girls topped Concord-Carlisle 3-0; Jack Marenghi capped a hat trick with 3:47 left and Ben Pimental followed 53 seconds later to give Lynnfield/Saugus a 4-3 win over the Andover Girls – Amy Pinkham with two goals and Sophia Gaetano 1-1-2 in the loss; Ryan O’Byrne wore the hat and Rebecca Michaud and Aidan Pollock both scored twice in Belmont’s 8-3 win over Cambridge, which got 1-1-2 from Riley Canfield and two assists from No. 17; Quinn Gunane wore the hat, scoring one in each period, and Micah Gadoury had two assists as Burlington nipped Natick 4-2 – Lou Zadra with both goals in the loss; Ryan Malesky posted 2-1-3 in Newburyport’s 4-1 win over Agawam; TJ Lynch scored with 6:21 left and Andrew Ioakim followed with 1:48 remaining to give North Andover a 3-2 decision over Wilmington – Alexis Fox; and Cam McCarthy scored twice and Mike Rutledge had a goal and an assist in Natick’s 4-2 win over Amesbury.
